Planetary Transits

Transit duration varies by planet: Moon transits last 1-2 days and affect daily moods. Mercury, Venus, and Mars transits last weeks to months, influencing shorter-term themes. Jupiter and Saturn transits last 1-3 years, marking major life chapters. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transits last 3-20+ years, creating generational changes and deep personal transformations.

Easy transits like trines and sextiles create flowing energy, opportunities come naturally, and progress feels effortless. Challenging transits like squares and oppositions create tension, obstacles, and friction that forces growth. While easy transits feel pleasant, challenging transites often bring the most significant personal development.

The best times for important decisions are during supportive Jupiter transits to your natal planets, especially trines and sextiles. Avoid major decisions during Mercury retrograde, Mars-Saturn squares, or when the Moon is void of course.

Retrograde transits are not inherently bad - they're periods for review, revision, and reflection. Mercury retrograde is famous for communication issues, but excellent for editing. Venus retrograde asks for relationship review. Use them as pauses for refinement rather than starting new ventures.

The most important transits are those that form exact aspects (within 1-2 degrees) to your natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or chart ruler. Outer planet transits (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) to personal planets carry more weight than inner planet transits. Pay special attention to Saturn returns (age 29, 58) and Jupiter returns (every 12 years).
